While at the hospital\, it came to us\, to make a positive from this devastating nightmare.\nWith the assistance of Life Alliance organ recovery agency\, we spoke to the mother a young girl who received a donor gift about five years ago. After hearing the gift not only saved the young girl\, but an entire family\, it solidified our organ donation decision. Although we weren’t as fortunate\, we were able to answer the prayers of others.\nOur brave decision to gift Diego’s organs\, eyes & tissues to families in need of \nthese life-saving gifts made Diego\, forever a superhero. And for us\, our mission \nbecame inspiring others as to the importance of becoming an organ donor… \nsave a life\, save a family!\nAt least 3 people received life-saving organs\, including his passionate heart and \nboth kidneys. His beautiful blue eyes as well as tissues helped many others. \nPlease join us in celebrating the cause and Diego’s heroism in a 5k run or 1k walk.\nThe Diego’s Superhero 5K4Life begins at 8:00am\, with registration and packet pickup available at 7:00am.\n

DESCRIPTION:Professionals United 4 Parkland is excited to host the 2nd Annual Superhero 5K on Saturday October 23\, 2021.   We pressed through the challenges of 2020 host the inaugural 5K as a virtual event.  Professionals United 4 Parkland and their event committee has decided in the best interest of safety\, the 2021 Superhero 5K would also be hosted as a virtual event.
