McArthur High school is proud to host the inaugural Carnival 5K Run/Walk that will be held on February 26, 2023, at TY park in Hollywood. The Carnival 5K Run/Walk will benefit the McArthur Highschool chorus team, as they reach for their musical dreams and compete against other schools. Show your support of the great students of McArthur High School and help make their dreams come true. So, if you like music, games, and cotton candy sign up to participate in the Carnival 5k and have a lot of fun.
The Carnival 5K Run/Walk also pays tribute the Caribbean Carnival lifestyle that takes place in many countries during the month of February with all different types of reasons they celebrate. These carnivals include masquerade party traditions along with music and dancing to celebrate the time of year. The Carnival 5K Run/Walk will also add a local carnival flare with cotton candy, funnel cakes, and fun carnival games.
The Carnival 5K Run/Walk is a chip timed event by Victory Sports Management. All participants will receive a personalized race bib with timing chip, race finisher medal, event shirt, and a personalized race completion certificate. Awards will be handed out to the top 3 overall (male and female) as well as age groups.

McArthur High School Chorus
The McArthur High School Chorus strives to impact lives through our music. Each student is a crucial part to building the success of our choral program. Our McArthur High School Chorus is open to all students who have a desire to learn how to perform various styles of music. Our students are committed to excellence for each performance and enjoy sharing their talents with the community.
Our Chorus Program has seen major development in a relatively short amount of time. The Chorus Program, which accepts students from a vast array of educational, economic, and emotional levels, encourages students to overcome their fear of public performance and teaches the importance of teamwork. In 2016, McArthur High School’s Chorus Program earned an “Excellent” rating (the second highest score) at the Florida Vocal Association’s District Music Performance Assessment after a six-year absence from the high-caliber event. In 2017, our Chorus earned a “Superior” rating and qualified for the State Music Performance Assessment for the first time in 13 years. All that development has been instrumental in us reaching our most recent milestone. In April, 2019, our Chorus Program performed as part of the National High School Chorus at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City! In 2022, the Chorus performed for the first time at the Orlando Choral Festival.
Our Chorus Program has now set its sights on a national choral competition in Atlanta, GA. The McArthur High School Chorus will showcase its talents as it competes against other choruses from around the country. Many McArthur High students, however, struggle financially. 74% of the school’s students require either free or reduced lunch, and all students receive free breakfast. The projected total cost of the project is $13,000.
