Q: Where is the Support Surfside 5K taking place?
A: Markham Park; 16001 W State Road 84, Sunrise FL, 33326
Q: Who is the Support Surfside 5K benefiting?
A: 100% of the event proceeds will go to supportsurfside.org and help those families most in need.
Q: How long will I need to volunteer?
A: We have three volunteer options available, as follows:
Tuesday July 27, 2021 at Town of Surfside - Town Hall - Pre-Race Packet Pickup from 8:30am to 12:00pm (noon)
Thursday July 29, 2021 at Runner's Depot in Davie - Pre-Race Packet Pickup from 1:30pm to 7:00pm
Saturday July 31, 2021 at Markham Park - RACE DAY from 6:00am - 12:00pm
Q: What should I wear?
A: Please wear khaki or black colored shorts/pants and a white shirt (long or short sleeve). Make sure it is comfortable as you will be working outside and moving around.
Q: Where do I park/dropped off within the Markham Park upon arrival?
A: The event will take place at Special Event Lawn. Upon entering the park, you will go straight at the first stop sign and this will take you directly to the event
Q: What are the duties of a volunteer?
A: The volunteer duties will range from registering participants, handing out participants race packets, providing participants with water during the event, start/finish setup and teardown, on course directional markers - telling the participants where to go, event course setup, parking, 5K chip timing.
Q: Who will complete my volunteer service hours form?
A: Upon completion of your volunteer shift, please see Danny Howard to have your form completed and signed.
Q: How will I know what my assignment?
A: Upon arrival Victory Sports will have staff to guide you in the correct direction. Victory Sports staff will be wearing bright neon yellow staff shirts.
