Get West Broward a Stadium 5k

West Broward High School, a cornerstone of Pembroke Pines, FL community since 2008, is in dire need of a proper athletic stadium. Our current shortage of facilities affects football, soccer, track and field, lacrosse, JROTC, band, and other school programs, along with community events. A new stadium would not only enhance our school’s activities but also benefit local businesses and organizations.

To address this need, we are hosting the “2nd annual Get West Broward a Stadium 5K” fundraising event. This 5K race/walk will feature a fast out-and-back course that starts and ends on the track, with part of the route passing through the school courtyard. The event will also pay tribute to Ethan Lawrence, a 2023 alumnus and distinguished athlete whose life was tragically ended by lightning while running and conditioning at Vista View Park on June 30, 2024. In his memory, his family will donate - pair of Hoka shoes—Ethan’s favorite shoes—to the overall male and female first-place winners.

All participants will receive medals, and the first 150 registrants will get rally towels. Costumes are encouraged! Early registration is available online, with race day registration beginning at 7 a.m. Join us in supporting this vital cause and help spread the word!
