Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk 5K

If you are only registering a child, the parent will need to go to www.active.com and create an account prior to clicking the blue “Click to Register” button. This is to verify the person registering the child is 18 years of age or older and legal guardian. Once you create the account you can then click on the blue “Click to Register” button above. You will be prompted to select are you registering yourself or someone else under 18, select someone else under 18. You will then follow the step to register your child.
Welcome to Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk 5K
We are excited to host the inaugural Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtual 5K supported by the PTA. A virtual event allows you to participate between December 4-18, 2020 at a time and location that you feel comfortable. All participants will receive a custom race bib, finisher medal, and personalized race completion certificate. We will provide a race app that will handle everything associated with the event. You will be able to track your run/walk, submit your results, view/submit event pictures, view results, receive messages from the race director, and other various features. Click the blue “Registration” button above to sign up. Registration will open from Saturday November 7, 2020 through Saturday December 5, 2020. Registrations will not permitted after December 5, 2020.
$22.50 – Adult: includes custom race bib, finisher medal, and personalized race completion certificate
$17.50 – Student (18 and under): includes custom race bib, finisher medal, and personalized race completion certificate
* You will receive a 10% discount if you create or join a team during registration. If you choose to create or join a team, you will automatically receive the 10% which will applied at check-out. Get your family, friends, classmates to create a team and save.

The Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtual 5K is excited to offer three options to submit your results.
1. We offer an event app that will track your run/walk, submit your results, view event leaderboard, view event photos, receive event messages from race director, and visit the Griffin Elementary website. Follow the steps below to use the event app.

3. If you do not wish to time yourself, ride a bike, skateboard, or scooter, and are participating to show your support of Griffin Elementary, you may complete the following form. The form verifies you completed the 5K distance but do not wish to submit a completion time. You will earn your finisher medal but will not be listed on the official event leaderboard.

Q: Do I have to run?
A: No you can run or walk the Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtual 5K and have your results calculated towards the awards. If you wish to participate without a time simply use option #3 above and that will allow you to complete the 5K on a bike, scooter, rollerblades, skateboard, or any other method.
Q: When and how do I register for the Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtual 5K?
A: Registration opens on November 7, 2020 and will be available through December 5, 2020. Click the blue “Registration” at the top of the page to register.
Q: Can I register after December 5, 2020?
A: No, the event supplies (medals) will be order on December 5, 2020 which is the reason registration must be closed. Please register prior to December 5, 2020.
Q: Is there a specific location I have to run/walk?
A: No, this is a virtual 5K, which means you choose the location you prefer.
Q: Is there a specific day I have to run/walk?
A: There is not a specific day. You can choose anytime between December 4-18, 2020 to complete your 5K.
Q: How far is 5K?
A: 5K is equivalent to 3.1 miles.
Q: How do I track/verify my 5K?
A: We provide an event app that will track your distance and time. You will download the “Active Experience” app. Once you download the app you will choose the event “Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtaul 5K”
Q: How do I submit my results?
A: If you use the event app to track your 5K, the results will automatically be submitted to the event when you complete your 5K. If you do not use the event app to track your 5K, you can submit your results at https://resultscui.active.com/events/GriffinElementaryFunRunVirtual5K, you will need your registration number, which is located on your confirmation email.
Q: Am I required to submit my completion time with the results?
A: No, we have a category for those who complete the 5K without submitting your time. You will earn your finisher medal but since there is no time, will not be included in the official leaderboard.
Q: Do I have to be associated with Griffin Elementary to participate?
A: No, we would love the support of everyone in the community for this fun event.
Q: What do I get for participating in the Griffin Elementary Fun Run/Walk Virtual 5K?

Q: How will I get my race packet?
A: After you register, you will receive an email with a copy of your digital race bib. We ask that you print the bib and use it when you run/walk. We will have one or two days after the event is complete to pick up your race packet (official race bib, finisher medal, and personalized race certificate). The date, time, and location will be annouced.
