Why is this event so important? During the COVID-19 pandemic, which many of us have never lived through a pandemic of this magnitude, it is our nurses who are leading the battle. Are you aware how many nurses are feeling overwhelmed and scared? Things are so hectic during this pandemic that nurses may go 12-15 hours without a break or eating. Nurses are so focused on healing, supporting and caring for patients that they often forget about themselves or even their families. There are many stories of nurse hiding in the supply closet so they could spend a private moment crying. There are even stories of nurses becoming a patient because they reach a point and breakdown. Nurses are always there for us when we need them and this is our opportunity to return the favor.
